Perhaps 30-minutes will depend on how fast you can crochet. But on the average, I finished crocheting each pair for about 30 minutes, some 45 minutes.
One day, while I was watching a talk show, I had an epiphany. The best dangling earrings have the shape of either a teardrop, circle or diamond. Ideas suddenly flooded my mind and I sketched over thirty motifs before that show was over.
As you know, I crochet mostly with plarn. But it just didn't work. I was very frustrated.
Then I remembered I had lots of sewing thread in my stash. I pulled out a black, white and gray and crocheted the first earring.
I fell in love and the rest is history.
These earrings are characterized by its lacy patterns expressed through picots and alternating open and close spaces. I also played with texture by using puffs, shells and crab stitches.
All of them are dangling earrings because I love earrings that moves with me.
Since sewing thread is very lightweight, a pendant is needed to weigh it down. (I had a lot of cross pendants because there was a time when I considered selling crocheted rosaries.)
If you don't like to use pendants, apply a LOT of white glue to increase its weight. White glue is needed to harden the crocheted motifs.
My desire for these earrings is to bring attention to the face without overpowering it. These earrings will enhance a woman's beauty.
Aside from that, I want these earrings to be easy to wear so it can be worn with your casual or formal get-ups. My thought was something I can wear at home when I want to feel beautiful or wear when I'm out and I want to look my best.
These crochet patterns are not just for earrings. They can be used for:
crocheted necklace pendant key chain cell phone charm bag charmIf you use thicker yarns, these could also be great as
coasters doiliesAnd if you make a lot of them and join them together, these patterns would make great crocheted:

Pour white glue in a cup. Submerge crochet motif in glue. Use a paintbrush to spread the glue evenly. Bring the motif to the side of the cup and remove excess glue as much as possible. Hang to dry. This is the simplest pattern of all. The main attraction for these earrings are the picots.
The highlight of this pattern are the puffs (not so visible in the photo, but there are puffs there) and the lace edging. The lace edging, in particular is not that common adding more romance to this design.
The main feature of this pattern is the use of long single crochet partnered with filet spaces and picots.
Thanks to the crab stitch for the corded-look of this earring's edges. The inner stitches features two (2) rounds of alternating shells as a soft contrast to the solid look of the edges.
The biggest motif among these group, the outer mesh provides a great backdrop for the solid diamond dc's in the center.

But I still published that pattern because I KNOW its beautiful. | SourceSourceSmallest and simplest of this group, the net-like center is balanced by a solid round of dc's finished by another round of picots.
Shells sandwiched between open spaces and trimmed with a round of picots, this pattern is best worked in a single color (something I realized while photographing it).
Filet beginning and end, contrasted with a solid mid-section composed of long sc's, this motif feels nautical yet feminine at the same time.
If a golden flower's beauty could be caged, it would probably look like this.
A solid center made even bolder with gigantic puffs, coupled with a bit of open spaces, and decorated with picots, this motif is the perfect finale for circular earrings.
Although not as stunning as her sisters, her innocence will surely win you over.

Be mesmerized with this enchanting pair of earrings with a firm teardrop-shape made more classy by puffs that borders it.
Ornate midriff sandwiched between thick rounds of dc's fashions this earring into a chic piece.
This boldly shaped teardrop motif, made more interesting with a round of puffs, will add loveliness to any woman's look.
The most well-shaped of them all, this earring owes its gracefulness to its open center and lace edgings.
SourceA classy circular earring with a lacy center and a firm edge, this pair does not shout "Look at me! I'm so pretty!" Instead it whispers, "Look at the woman wearing me, isn't she lovely?"
