Jennifer Dickerson, from the Fiber Flux blog, calls this the "Blueberry Pie Scarf." Aptly named for it's blue and purple hues. The yarn used to create these hues is Lion Brand "Tweed Stripes." The Blueberry scarf is easy for beginners because it requires only 2 stitches, the chain and double crochet. The lacy look is achieved by skipping every other stitch as you crochet.
Skill Level: Beginner
You will need:
* 1 skein Lion Brand "Tweed Stripes" (2 skeins for a scarf longer than 60 in.)
* Crochet Hook (Size K)
* Yarn Needle (for weaving in the ends)
Blueberry Pie Scarf Pattern
This free pattern requires about a day for a beginner to crochet. To begin the scarf chain 150. Single crochet the full length of the scarf, changing the color of yarn after each row. This makes long stripes. Use masculine colors for a man's scarf, or create feminine stripes for your favorite gal.
Skill Level: Easy
You will need:
* DK Yarn: Several Colors
* Crochet Hook - Size I - 5.5 mm
* Yarn Needle

I've been wanting to crochet scarves for charity this year. It's too warm here year round, but I'm sure those in cold climates would appreciate a crocheted scarf. Good variety of patterns!
